111 - Crayon on Paper
My son was talking about texture in art class the other day and they went outside and did rubbings. Here is my own little version. The stars are the rusty door to the basement and the sky is a maple tree. I really like the texture from the bark.
99 - Crayon on Kraft Paper
I drew these briefs on my son’s giant birthday card. It was more work than the joke was worth (and it wasn’t much work), but it made me laugh.
97 - Fading Away
Completing my grid paper and Crayon series! Tonight we went on the Art Loop in Wilmington and saw a lot of amazing art. I got a few direct inspirations that I’ll try and incorporate in the future, but one general thing that struck me a number of times was the excellent range and fineness of value I saw in pieces. It’s something that is always lacking when I mess with drawing, which makes it stand out more when someone uses it well. For this star, I picked out the two closes shades of green I could find in the giant box o’ Crayons.
